TV Series Review Fourteen years ago, give or take, Rick Grimes walked out of a hospital room and into a scene from a horror flick. The world had gone to rot—literally. Corpses walked the earth, killing anyone and everyone they found. Those who survived fought over resources, often killing each other in their plight. Rick himself was separated from his wife, Lori, and their son, Carl. But...[Read More]
There’s no small bit of irony to the goriest premiere moment in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. (Warning: In case it wasn’t obvious, some spoilers lie ahead.) At the start of AMC’s Walking Dead spin-off series, our long-disappeared hero, Rick Grimes, is clearly not doing well. We first spot him watching a news segment while holding a piece of glass to his neck. He’s been trying to break free ...[Read More]
With Terry O'Quinn's penchant for playing unassuming-looking characters with strange secrets, it's no surprise that he ended up working with "The X-Files" creator Chris Carter. In fact, he's appeared in so many Carter projects that it may be hard to keep track of them all. The most prominent of his roles is Peter Watts on the horror-tinted crime drama, "Millennium." The character is a former FBI h...[Read More]

Andrew Lincoln is always a pleasure to watch. But he can only do so much with tired, predictable writing. The same moral predicaments have been done so many times, but they're universal --- I find it hard to believe they can't be made fresh. The problem with this show is the writing. Plain and simple, it's bad, boring and predictable. And pushing "The Walking Dead Universe." Come on, we understand...[Read More]

Originally announced as movies that would feature Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” became a series instead, and as conceived and constructed, the least impressive of the zombie drama’s recent spinoffs. While Lincoln’s involvement as the original star looks like a coup, that’s poor compensation for questionable decisions regarding how to showcase him. Read...[Read More]
