Tony Goss’s ‘BOOK OF JOSHUA: WALLS OF JERICHO’ – Movie Review – PopHorror

There are animated movies that come around and reshape the world of animation and culture. Tony Goss-directed Book of Joshua: Walls of Jericho is not one of those movies and there is a lot that could have been improved.

The film begins with Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt and escaping the pharaoh’s wrath. When Moses passes away, Joshua becomes his successor and he takes the Israelites to the city of Jericho to vanquish the evil city by order of his divine God.

I want to start by saying that the film truly does have a soulful story behind it with interesting characters that prove to be admirable under pressure and very much likable in their demeanor.

However, the endearing story may be the only thing that this movie benefits from. The animation style seems very cheap-looking and uninspired with some of the animation not matching the vocals from the voice actors.

Most of the film looks like a comic-book,  which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but its style does not give the vibe of an animated motion picture but rather an after school kids’ show that aired the first pilot.

Overall, this movie had a lot of potential but ultimately fails to live up to any amazing feats due to its less-than-stellar animation style.
