Lucas Pope has created an amazing production called Papers, Please that transcended video games and got its own (short) film adaptation. It’s an unprecedented feat if we consider that it’s a small indie title about being an employee of local customs service. This 2013 vision became reality (at least to some extent) during COVID 19 pandemic, when we were locked out in our homes and had to be constantly examined. It appears that those events have inspired the developers from Brigada Games to create zombie themed version of Pope’s title. Quarantine Zone The Last Check is a production that has received a demo recently, which has proven to be very popular, especially among streamers, making it viral (pun not intended). Now, as it has gained traction among the gaming community, many players wonder whether this production will make its way onto console devices like Xbox, PS4, PS5 or Nintendo Switch. Let’s try to analyze if such possibility exists, and if yes – when can we expect this port to happen.
Console release (Xbox, PS4, PS5, Switch) of Quarantine Zone The Last Check explained
Undeniably, it’s an art to tell a compelling story using only very simple game mechanics and limited setting. While Quarantine Zone The Last Checkpoint brings more vivid vision to Papers, Please idea, it still follows the same principles of a thorough examination that can weigh on people’s lives. This added depiction has made the title a lot more watchable, hence it gained some traction among streamers. This of course worked as a leverage and a free marketing for Brigada Team, thus now a lot of new fans are asking about release of this production on devices like Xbox, PS4, PS5 or Nintendo Switch. Do the developers plan to implement those ports?
While they are aware of the demand of such option, in the FAQ that they have shared on Steam Community Hub, they have expressed their intention to focus on PC version first. This makes perfect sense, as the game is not even released yet. What is more, not even Early Access is in place and the demo that was launched on 22nd of May 2025 is the only opportunity to experience this title. The studio claims to release the full version of Quarantine Zone in September 2025, yet the date is subject to change.
Since the production doesn’t focus on graphics, it might work well even on older devices like PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch. If you still have this older gen hardware, it is a good idea to voice such opinion on game’s official Discord server. Additionally, in case you would like to stay up to date with all the news related to Quarantine Zone, make sure to follow the devs’ social media accounts on X or Bluesky. There you can not only follow the progress of the game’s development but also hook up with people who share your passion for this title.
Since the creators form an indie studio, it is understandable that they want to play it safe and check how their production fares on the main platform, to focus on others if the demand is still high. Let’s hope that the interest in this game won’t die out before its fully released. If it will indeed stay popular, the console release is within our grasp. We should keep on supporting Brigada Games so they can work on Quarantine Zone, enriching it with new functionalities and weeding out bugs and glitches.
