From producer Takashi Shimizu (Director of The Grudge) comes the Japanese nightmare Best Wishes to All, which notably won “Scariest Feature” at the Overlook Film Festival.
The Japanese horror movie hails from writer-director Yûta Shimotsu, and it’s coming to Shudder on June 13. Watch the trailer for the terrifying Shudder Original movie below.
In Best Wishes to All…
“A young woman’s visit to her grandparents’ home leads to the discovery of what’s brought them happiness, a revelation that will lead her to question her choices, sanity and reality itself.”
Aine Hara stars alongside Kotone Furukawa and Koya Matsuda.
Even the tagline for this one sends a chill up your spine: “There is a limit to the amount of happiness on Earth.” It’s featured on the film’s official poster, which you’ll also find below.
Bloody Disgusting contributor Matt Donato wrote in his review for Daily Dead, “At no time is Best Wishes to All expected (complimentary). Shimotsu’s on-the-nose portrayal of Japan’s cyclical and soul-sucking methods of happiness is furiously untamed.”
Matt continues in his Best Wishes to All review, “It might not be perfectly sharpened or delivered, but that’ll matter less if you find yourself gawking at the loss of humanity on screen.”
