Angira Dhar makes her Pollywood debut with Jombieland, first look out
Angira Dhar has shared her first look from the Punjabi industry’s first zombie film ever, Jombieland. The actress has shared her first look from the upcoming movie. She is seen holding a rifle to her shoulder while wearing a leather jacket with bandages on both hands. With ruffled hair and blood stains over her neck, there are hints that Angira would get into some intense moments with the zombies, including one that bites her and almost turns her into a zombie.
The actress plays the character of Aanchal Hooda in the film, and she believes it was relatively easier for her to get into the character despite joining the team last because of her past choices (action in Commando 3). “The team was incredibly helpful and well-prepared, making it easy for them to communicate the film’s vision and process to me. Their support made the experience feel almost second nature, and each day on set was an opportunity to learn something new,” the actress said in a media statement.
Led by Binnu Dhillon and featuring Angira Dhar in the pivotal role, Jombieland also stars Kanika Maan, Jassa Dhillon, Dhanveer Singh, and Guri. The Thaparr directorial is scheduled for theatrical release on June 13.
How is Jombieland different from Marathi industry’s first and only zombie film, Zombivli?

Zombivli (2022) and Jombieland could appear and feel similar, but they are from different lands with different audiences, and thus, the horror-comedy films offer different viewing experiences. Aditya Sarpotdar’s Zombivli was about an engineer and a slum leader being forced to unite in their fight against zombies despite their magical differences. The film, set in Dombivli, revolved around the uncovering of a corporate conspiracy. Jombieland, on the other hand, is similar to the recently released K-Drama Newtopia (starring Blackpink’s Jisoo in the lead role). It begins with a family dispute over a budding romance, which ends up being the couple’s struggle to stay alive as the zombie virus spreads rapidly.
