Z-O-M-B-I-E-S! Zombies! That’s right, Disney Channel is officially bringing back everyone’s favorite zombie-human couple for a fourth movie—and this time it involves vampires?! Below, we found out what you need to know about the hijinx Zed (Milo Manheim) and Addison (Meg Donnelly) are expected to get into, and how fan favorite characters like Willa the werewolf (Chandler Kinney) are expected to return. What is ‘Zombies 4’ about?
Zombies 4, officially titled Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, is expected to follow Zed and Addison on a summer road trip and soon encounter two dangerous groups of never-before-seen monsters.
“Personally, it’s my favorite soundtrack of any of the movies,” Manheim told People in June 2024. “It’s shot like a feature film, it’s almost like Marvel. When it comes down to it, the story, the theme of this movie, just hits the hardest for me. When we were at the table reading, hearing these lines and hearing the themes of Zombies come through again in such a strong way that really tugged on my heartstrings.”
The actor also teased that there will be a lot of new characters in the film, which felt like “a nice passing of the torch.”
Before this, Manheim and Donnelly had starred in the three prior movies together, as well as the animated series.
Who in the cast is returning for ‘Zombies 4’?
Along with Manheim and Donnelly, Kinney, who was also on the most recent season of Dancing with the Stars, and Kylee Russell are expected to return.
“I was convinced that I could not sing, that I could not hold a tune, that I was, like, tone deaf,” Kinney said of her joining the cast in November 2024. “I should never open my mouth.”
“[I] definitely had a little bit of impostor syndrome that I’m still overcoming, and that’s just in everything. But I do feel a little bit more comfortable. You know, I think, just even being in the space of a studio and being behind a mic and listening to my voice back, those are all baby steps that I’ve learned to acknowledge and then also, let those be victories.”
Malachi Barton, Freya Skye, Lisa Chappell and Julian Lerner will join the cast. Their roles have been announced, but it is unclear how exactly they will weave into the story.
When does ‘Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires’ come out?
Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires is expected to be released on Disney Channel on Thursday, July 10, and then it will be available to stream on Disney+ the next day. Currently, there is no news on whether there will be a fifth film, but either way, Manheim is happy with what the films have done for his career and how they served as an entryway for his friendship with Donnelly
“This is a really unique experience that not a lot of people get to go on,” the actor told People in 2024. “So I just become more and more grateful that I have Meg by my side going through this and so many other amazing Zombies cast members. We spent years of our lives together creating this universe and seriously, there’s nobody I’d rather have gone on this adventure with.”
“Since the beginning, I’ve loved Meg so much. We’ve had such a great bond, but it’s become so familial. At first, it was really exciting, we were just two kids getting thrown into it, but now it’s like Meg, oftentimes, is my rock that I can lean on.”
