Horror fans agree this underrated genre-mashup is well worth a watch, with one Google review raving: “Heart Eyes is a romantic comedy (ROM-COM) slasher film that does an amazing job with what it does.

“It delivers many laughs, awesome kills, memorable moments, and thrills that you keep you engaged from start to finish!”

Another cinephile insisted: “Ignore the reviews, this movie is my cup of tea, simply because it’s got the right amount of kills, it’s meant to be a rom-com and didn’t lie about being a full-time horror.”

Highlighting the film’s striking new villain, the review went on: “They created a character, which with work and a movie franchise, could create a potential horror figure within the movie world of horror.

“I know how the movie ended may not seem like it could, but the character itself was a very good idea. I think it could be evolved and repeated like other characters such as Michael Myers, Fred Krueger, Ghostface and the rest.”

Someone else added: “Heart Eyes is an electrifying addition to the modern slasher renaissance, delivering exactly what fans crave: brutal kills, intense chase sequences, and a cast of characters that actually make you care.

“Following in the footsteps of Thanksgiving, this holiday-themed horror flick cements itself as a must-watch for genre lovers.”

“The comedy in this movie was very funny I laughed a lot, the acting was amazing, and the kills were so creative and well done and were very bloody. The story was very entertaining and I would honestly love to see it made into a franchise I wouldn’t be mad about it.”

And a final fan wrote: “Heart Eyes is a remarkable cinematic experience that masterfully merges the conventions of a romantic comedy with the elements of a slasher genre. The film captivated me from the outset, and I wholeheartedly endorse its release in 2025. Oliva Holt is a mutha f***** SCREAM QUEEN!!! This film is deserving of unequivocal praise.”
