New Featurettes Unleashed to Celebrate Release of ‘Night of the Zoopocalypse’

Looking for something to watch this weekend with the family? We’ve got you covered. Viva Pictures has released two new featurettes that provide insight into the story of Clive Barker’s Night of the Zoopocalypse, which is out now.

Things Get Wild

These sneak peeks hint at the whole “zoo gone crazy” situation. We’re getting even more of David Harbour (aka Hopper from “Stranger Things”) lending his awesome voice to Dan, the mountain lion who’s got a surprisingly good heart (or at least, a heart that’s trying to avoid becoming zombie chow). Plus, there’s a whole Noah’s Ark-worth of other zoo animals getting their close-ups, and trust me, they are not looking their Sunday best. Think less cute and cuddly, more… well, zombified and hungry.

Here’s the deal: Colepepper Zoo goes completely bananas. Like, full-on, something-has-gone-terribly-wrong bonkers. It’s up to a brave kid named Gracie to team up with our heroic (sort of) mountain lion, Dan, to try and survive the utter chaos. Along the way, they gather the most unlikely crew of heroes you could imagine. We’re talking about a lemur who’s a movie buff, a capybara who’s got nerves of steel (or maybe doesn’t realize the danger?), and the absolute scene-stealer, Poot – a tiny but mighty pygmy hippo who’s about as adorable as he is surprisingly brave. This ragtag bunch must use every ounce of their wit and courage to outsmart a horde of zombie animals and try to take back their home. Spoiler alert: it’s not gonna be a walk in the park (pun intended).

A Cast and Crew that’s to Die For

Behind all this animated madness, there’s some serious talent at the helm. Ricardo Curtis (The Incredibles) and Rodrigo Perez-Castro (The Book of Life) are co-directing this crazy project. The script comes from the minds of James Kee (A Christmas Horror Story and Steven Hoban (Cube, Ginger Snaps).

The voice cast is also packed with familiar and funny folks. Scott Thompson from “The Kids in the Hall” is lending his comedic chops, as is Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (aka Appa from “Kim’s Convenience”) and Gabbi Kosmidis (“Unicorn Academy”). You know these voices will bring these animal characters to life in a big way.

Night of the Zoopocalypse sounds like a fun blend of adventure, comedy, and just the right amount of kid-friendly horror. It’s the kind of movie that the whole family can enjoy, with a unique twist that’ll keep everyone entertained. It’s all about teamwork, finding courage when things get hairy (literally!), and protecting the ones you love. And with the legendary Clive Barker as an executive producer, you know some seriously creepy and wildly imaginative moments.

So, if you’re looking for a fun and quirky movie to watch with the family or if you’ve ever wondered what a zombie lemur looks like, you’re in luck! You can dive into Night of the Zoopocalypse right now—it’s available on digital from Viva Pictures.
