Are These Minnesotans’ Top Ten Horror Flicks of the 21st Century? – 98.1 – Minnesota’s New Country

I love horror flicks. If a movie can scare the sh*t out of me, I dig it.

I’ve leaned more towards zombie horror flicks in the last few years (thank The Walking Dead for that…thank you TWD!!) because entertaining non-zombie horror flicks have become harder to find (on Netflix). I’ll take a D-rated zombie flick over many “A-list” flicks nowadays.

Movie Films and Flicks released a Top Ten list of the best horror flicks released in this century, as voted on by 3,500 readers. It triggered my Choad Rage, and goes as follows:

MFF Reader Poll Top Ten Horror Films of the 21st Century

  1. The Cabin in the Woods
  2. Pan’s Labyrinth
  3. 28 Days Later
  4. The Descent
  5. Let the Right One In
  6. It Follows
  7. The Babadook
  8. Shaun of the Dead
  9. Mullholland Drive
  10. Drag Me to Hell

After reading this list, I realized that I’ve only seen two out of the ten (Cabin in the Woods & 28 Days Later). LOVED them both. But Drag Me to Hell made the Top Ten and The Devil’s Rejects didn’t (in all fairness, I hate Justin Long. I’m a PC)?!? Nothing by Stephen King (The Mist was #18 of the Top 25, but still)?!?

And where the heck is The Ring?!?!? It was #11.

How about I do a little list of my own, as voted by me.

Choad’s Top Ten Horror Movies of the 21st Century That I Can Remember:

  1. Cabin in the Woods (I agree on this one)
  2. The Devil’s Rejects
  3. Tucker & Dale vs Evil
  4. 28 Days Later
  5. The Ring
  6. World War Z
  7. V/H/S
  8. The Others
  9. Dead Snow
  10. Quarantine

Obviously it’s a very subjective…subject, but these 3,500 people are wrong, and should go follow a creepy sound into the woods.
