7 Days to Die Is Leaving Xbox Game Pass at the End of April

7 Days to Die is leaving Xbox Game Pass this month.

7 Days to Die is an open-world survival horror title developed by The Fun Pimps and released in early access back in 2013. The game features a combination of elements such as shooting, tower defense, and more. It has been appreciated for its crafting and world-building content.

The game is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox but is being removed from Game Pass this month. But that’s not all, as the developers are also delisting the game. The reason behind this is that the game on the Game Pass is the Xbox One version and is very well behind the PC version. It is also to avoid “branding confusion,” as the developer stated.

Behind the PC version in the sense that the console version of the game hasn’t received any updates in nearly seven years, and the last patch update was released back in 2017. The game is now leaving early access, and a new updated Xbox, PlayStation, and PC version will be coming.

Developer Fun Pimps revealed the roadmap via the FAQ page of the official website and said that it is excited to finally bring the long-awaited 1.0 update, which is scheduled for June and would bring two new PC and console ports that would receive updates together alongside other new features.

Fun Pimps announced that Alpha 22, or Version 1.0, will be released in July 2024, and it will focus on keeping parity with PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. According to the roadmap, the new game version will get a major update called Storm’s Brewing with new features.

These include remade vehicle assets, new animals, a new gore system for zombies, graphic updates, and other improvements. The new version will also overhaul the game’s weather system and add cross-play with post-launch updates.

The update planned for Q2 2025 will bring bandits, a UI overhaul, an event system, and a new quest type, and another update at the end of 2025 will introduce a story mode, overhaul the game’s traders, and introduce yet another new quest type.
