Giancarlo Esposito AMC Drama ‘Parish’ to Debut Ad-Free Between ‘Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ Finale, ‘Book of Carol’ First Look (EXCLUSIVE) – Variety

Giancarlo Esposito‘s new AMC crime drama “Parish” is getting the cable network’s red-carpet rollout treatment, airing ad-break free immediately after Sunday’s “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” finale and then without commercials all the way into a first look at “The Book of Carol,” the second season of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.”

Simultaneously debuting on AMC+, “Parish” will premiere at 10:15 p.m. ET and open with a brief “presented by” message from Crown Royal, the episode’s lone sponsor. Then, it will run without interruption.

In the new series, Esposito stars as Gracian “Gray” Parish, a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in New Orleans. After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gray on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate.

“Parish” also stars Zackary Momoh, Paula Malcomson, Skeet Ulrich, Bonnie Mbuli, Ivan Mbakop, Arica Himmel, Dax Rey and Bradley Whitford.

Based on the U.K. series “The Driver,” “Parish” was created by Danny Brocklehurst and Jim Poyser. The show hails from AMC Studios in association with A+E Studios and Thruline Entertainment. Eduardo Javier Canto and Ryan Maldonado are showrunners and executive produce alongside Esposito, Brocklehurst, Poyser, Theo Travers, Jolyon Symonds and David Morrissey for Scribbler Films, Josh Kesselman, Danny Sherman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson and Red Production’s Nicola Shindler.

“What better way to kick off this high-octane, thrill ride of a show than to present the premiere episode commercial-free coming out of ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ finale and with a sneak peak of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Book of Carol’ at the other end,” AMC Networks chief marketing officer Kim Granito said. “Thanks to our long-time partners at Diageo and particularly the Crown Royal brand as the presenting sponsor for this great gift to the fans, the first episode of a new and highly anticipated Giancarlo Esposito series that will run without interruption.”
