“Captured from surveillance cameras. What purpose could this serve?” It’s not often we get a chance to play around with a new viral website! Sony Pictures has quietly launched a special WikiLeaks style website revealing secret documents and images in promotion of the upcoming 28 Years Later movie. This zombie movie horror sequel is yet again directed by Danny Boyle, and written by Alex Garland, following up the original 28 Days Later horror classic from 2002. This viral website is called RageLeaks.net and currently contains 10 downloadable documents featuring audio, photos + messages including leaked emails & more. Obviously it’s hinting that the rage virus isn’t really contained… It’s likely the plot of 28 Years Later will be some zombies returning and the virus spreading beyond the UK. The viral site also shows a map indicating that Ireland is infected in addition to the UK, but it’s supposed to be contained in this (despite the ending of 28 Weeks Later showing the infected reaching Paris – but they “pushed it back” to the UK apparently). The movie opens in theaters worldwide this week – we’ll know more soon! Until then, keep watching this site for any more new leaks – there’s definitely more to come. “What is really happening behind the blockade?” 🧟

For anyone who hasn’t figured it out yet, the password for website access is mementomori. From the map document: “If you’re reading this, you know this map. We’ve all seen it for so long, we practically don’t even notice it anymore. But today I found myself looking at the Dover Narrows. There’s only 20 miles of water separating Dover and Calais. That’s all. They’re probably the most vigilantly guarded miles in the world. The second wave reached Europe, and we pushed it back. The Atlantic Wall has held ever since. We tell ourselves it always will. But how can we know for sure if they won’t tell us what’s really happening?” Very interesting. It sounds like they’re hinting at the plot and how this containment wall might not hold up after all this time. Some of the memos indicate there’s a virus variant and even though they hoped it would be gone (and/or fully contained) after 28 years, it’s definitely coming back to rage rage rage again. The zombies are hungry…
