Screening of Owensboro-Shot Horror Film Will Make for a Terrifying ‘Christmas in June’

I’ve known my buddy PJ Starks for close to 20 years. It was 2008 when I saw his first horror film, and he’s been going practically non-stop ever since. You never know when you’ll see PJ and his partner, Eric Huskisson, and groups of local actors filming on the streets of Owensboro.

As someone who has always championed Owensboro and the downtown regions of other Kentucky cities as wonderful filming backdrops, I’m always pleased to see my hometown on the big screen thanks to these guys.

The 2020 horror anthology 13 Slays Till X-Mas focuses on five men mysteriously invited to a bar on Christmas Eve, where they pass the time by telling scary stories.

You are invited to join PJ, Eric, and members of the cast and crew at “Friday with the Arts at The Lot: 13 Slays Till X-Mas Screening & Director Experience”. I’m thinking their choice of Friday the 13th was not an accident. Yes, the special outdoor screening is this Friday. The doors open at 6 P,M and the screening will begin at dusk. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Owensboro Filmmakers Shoot Horror Sequel in Pennsylvania

Actors you have seen in films and streaming series populate The Barn III, the final chapter in the Starks/Huskisson horror trilogy and homage to 1980s slasher films.

The Barn trilogy tells the story of a group of teenagers who visit a haunted old barn they don’t know is loaded for bear with horrifying creatures. In the final installment, our heroes await the evil that will return to “finish the harvest.”

No release date has been announced, but if you twist their arms at the 13 Slays screening, maybe PJ and Eric will “let it slip.”
