5 Biggest Horror Games Releasing in June 2025 – KeenGamer

With Summer’s Game Fest right around the corner, we eagerly await release dates for some highly anticipated horror games slated to come out this year. While we wait, June has us covered with some great-looking horror games. June sees the release of Remedy’s next title, a few interesting indie games, and a new entry in a beloved horror franchise.

As always, please be aware that there are many horror games with unannounced release dates, so it’s possible we won’t know about some gems until halfway into the month. For now, though, let’s look at the 5 biggest horror games releasing in June.

5. Nedra

Release Date June 23rd
Price TBD
Developer Davit Andreasyan
Publisher indie.io
Platform PC
Monster attacking the player in Nedra

Be sure to lower your body heat if you want to avoid some of these monsters

Nedra is a story-driven horror blending survival and action. You become stranded in Antarctica after venturing out in reply to an SOS signal. While there, you start to uncover some of the Soviet station’s dark secrets. Players will try to survive the cold while occasionally fending off creatures.

Nedra features a unique gameplay mechanic where monsters can sense the character’s heat. This means you’ll ideally want to lower your temperature, which is fairly easy to do in Antarctica. The problem is that you obviously will freeze to death if you lower it too much. There is a balance there which I think is quite interesting. Let’s hope the story and gameplay are able to execute on what seems like a fantastic idea.

4. Midnight Mayhem

Release Date June 3rd
Price TBD
Developer Gradient Games
Publisher Gradient Games
Platform PC
An amusement park location in Midnight Mayhem

The amusement park location sounds like a great place to play around in

Midnight Mayhem is an asymmetric horror game where players team up with friends in order to survive against a monster with adapting abilities. The monster is controlled by another player with the passive ability of being invisible while in the shadows. It’s a strategic game where the monster has to stalk its prey and make the most of its abilities while the players use every tool in their arsenal to banish it.

The trailers make Midnight Mayhem look like a ton of fun. The game is releasing in early access, so there will be various updates afterwards that will further flesh out abilities and tools the players can use. The map locations shown in the trailer also seem like new areas not shown enough in horror games, such as an abandoned amusement park.

3. Zombie Army VR

The player is fighting their way through zombies.

Blasting zombies in VR is objectively always a good time!

Zombie Army, alongside Sniper Elite, have been staple franchises for Rebellion. While the Developer has made virtual reality games for the latter, they haven’t previously done so for Zombie Army. That now changes with Zombie Army VR, allowing players to battle hordes of zombies during WWII.

If you haven’t already played this franchise, VR is a great place to start. As mentioned previously, the Developer has already made Sniper Elite VR. They have garnered experience from making that title, and it shows in the trailers for Zombie Army VR. The game not only looks well polished and fun, but also visually impressive for a VR title. This is a big one for virtual reality headset owners, and they should definitely look to pick up this horror game when it releases in June.

2. FBC Firebreak

Coming off the heels of a critical success in Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s follow-up title is a departure from what they are known for. FBC Firebreak is a first-person shooter set in the world of Control. Players can team up with friends to confront a variety of different anomalies and monsters while completing missions.

The structure sounds similar to games like Left 4 Dead and World War Z, where you complete missions and then progress to higher difficulties. The difficulty can alter paths and mission objectives, though. Players can choose from a variety of weapons and tools, which gives horror game a lot of replay value. These types of games can be a gamble, but if anyone is going to pull it off, Remedy would be a great bet as they’re able to install a fresh and quirky coat of paint on an idea to make it stand out. So far, the FBC Firebreak looks amazing.

1. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic

Release Date June 13th
Price $39.99
Developer Steel Wool Studios
Publisher ScottGames
Platform PC, PlayStation 5

If you’re looking for a horror title that has a bit of scares, thrills, and adventure, look no further than the newest Five Nights at Freddy’s game, Secret of the Mimic. Oddly enough, I feel as though this latest entry is going a bit under the radar. I haven’t seen much discourse on it. That being said, this franchise has a huge following behind it, and they’re well aware it’s coming out.

In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, you enter an abandoned costume manor, where you try to piece together a mystery left behind by the inventor. What’s scary and unique here is the Mimic enemy. It can adapt and change into other costumes or characters. You’ll run away from it while trying to reclaim technology left behind at the location. Although this franchise hasn’t been as scary as something like Outlast or Alien Isolation, this franchise has always served up consistent scares. Let’s see if the quality is also great.
