Stimson Snead’s ‘Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox’ (2025) – Movie Review

Time travel is something that I think offers endless opportunities for interesting storytelling. Some of the biggest examples are the Back to the Future series and Avengers Endgame. Well I’d like to introduce you to another excellent example: Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox.

Synopsis

It is called the Time Travelers Paradox, in which a scientist creates a Time Machine and kills their younger self. So now a man who should not – can not – exist, somehow does. That is the Paradox, and Paradoxes are impossible. And the man who has created it is Tim Travers, a reclusive mad scientist whose stated mission in life is to stand alone with God at the end of time and tell the bastard off.

In the course of his adventure, Tim Travers will take on the mercenary gang whose stolen plutonium powers his machine, challenge an Alex Jones-esque podcaster to a battle of wits, create a black hole, meet the one woman alive crazier than him, clone himself, destroy the universe, make a new one, and maybe – just maybe – learn to love himself at last

Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox was written and directed by Stimson Snead. The film stars Samuel Dunning (Canoe Dig It), Felicia Day (Mystery Science Theater 3000), Joel McHale (Assassination Nation), Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn), Keith David (The Thing), and Stimson Snead.

So judging by the trailer I expected Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox to be funny but it was so much funnier than I expected. I was laughing from beginning to end and I’m not a huge comedy person. One of my favorite parts of the movie is Tim’s interactions with Delilah. Samuel Dunning and Felicia Day have great chemistry and play off of each other well. Another was Tim interacting with himself. There is many versions of Tim and it’s a lot of fun to see how they play off each other. I really enjoyed the character of Tim Travers. He’s a huge asshole but somehow he’s still likable.

I really enjoyed Danny Trejo here. I mean I always love Danny Trejo but he was especially good here. It helps that he has soon excellent dialogue to work with. The Keith David cameo was absolutely perfect. One of my favorite things about Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox is how unpredictable it is. I really had no clue where things were going but I had a hell of a lot of fun. The story definitely kept me on my toes.

Final Thoughts

Tim Travers and the Time Traveler’s Paradox is an absolute blast. I had so much fun with it. The cast is great and the plot is unpredictable. Highly recommended.
