Thanksgivingstar Nell Verlaque has offered an exciting update on the horror movie’s sequel. Eli Roth will return as director for the second installment of the horror franchise.
Verlaque, who played serial killer John Carver‘s nemesis Jessica in the first film, told Deadline on Monday (May 19) that she was “really excited” to get back on set for Thanksgiving 2. She also confirmed that filming is tentatively scheduled to take place very soon.

“I think we will be filming this year,” she confirmed. “I actually just saw Eli, and we’re talking about some plot points, so I’m really excited for it.”
Roth‘s 2023 hit made more than $46 million at the worldwide box office against a modest budget of only $15 million. The holiday-themed horror movie achieved critical acclaim as well as commercial success, as it received a 84% critical score and a 78% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
