Can you still get the Grow a Garden Chicken Zombie pet? We answer all your burning questions in this guide, including how to obtain it and its passive ability. There are lots of pets to collect in Grow a Garden!
Grow a Garden Chicken Zombie
Yup, the Chicken Jockey is now in Grow a Garden! The pet looks like the normal Chicken that you can obtain in the game, but with a zombie NPC sitting on top of it, just like in Minecraft (and the Minecraft movie).
How to Get the Chicken Zombie in Grow a Garden
Unfortunately, the Chicken Zombie pet is no longer available and was only obtainable before the Blood Moon event update. If you were playing the game on May 17, just before the update, the Chicken Zombie pet was added to your inventory immediately ahead of a cutscene.
Because of this, you cannot get the Chicken Zombie right now, and it is one of the rarest pets in Grow a Garden, alongside the Panda. If you don’t know, the Panda is also a pet that was only available just before an update! Other than for meme purposes, I personally don’t think you’re missing out on too much by not having either of these pets.
What Does the Chicken Zombie Pet Do?
Now, for what the Chicken Zombie brings to your garden. When you place this pet on your plot, a nearby crop has a 20% chance of gaining the Zombified mutation every 30 minutes. Plus, the hatching speed of any eggs growing in your garden increases by 10%!
Zombified Mutation
If a crop has the Zombified mutation, it sells for 25x the base selling value. Look out for crops that have a green fog emanating from them, with drips of a green-coloured liquid. This mutation is only available when having a Chicken Zombie pet in your garden. If you do not have this pet, you cannot get Zombified crops.
