It’s amazing that Dead Island 2 exists, after languishing in development hell for nearly a decade. But in April 2023 it was finally unleashed upon the world. And even more surprising, it’s actually rather good. In fact, we called it “the ultimate zombie game” in our review. Now you can find out for yourself how good Dead Island 2 is for free, providing you’re a PC gamer.
Head on over to the Epic Games Store and you’ll find that you can claim Dead Island 2 for free. Once it’s added to your library, you can play as much or as little of it as you like, whenever you like. You need to act relatively fast, though; the offer is only available until 22nd May at 4pm BST, then a new game will take its place.
While it’s the basic version of Dead Island 2 that the Epic Games Store is giving away for free, it offers hours upon hours of zombie-slaying fun. And if you have a friend or two who also play games on PC, get them to claim it as well, and you can play together via online co-op, making the experience even more fun. Once you’re done with its hefty campaign, it’s up to you if you want to pick up game’s expansions that offer yet more undead action.
It’s worth noting that Dead Island 2 isn’t the only game you can claim for free on the Epic Games Store; Happy Game is also available for the grand price of nothing. Don’t be fooled by its name, though, as it’s an eerie psychedelic horror game that challenges you to escape three disturbing nightmares.
