Disney’s recent attempt to adapt its old 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarves animated film to live-action has been an…interesting affair, to say the least. Mostly because of all the controversy around it before it had even made its theatrical debut on March 12, 2025, in Spain. It would take another nine days for it to make its US theatrical debut on March 21, 2025; but by then, all that controversy was well and truly thriving. I won’t get into exactly what those controversies were all about. If only for the sake of time, mind you. However, let’s just say that they certainly gave this latest Disney live-action remake quite a bit of attention.
Whether or not you think this live-action film deserves that attention will soon be something you can decide for yourself at home. Disney is proud to announce (including with a home video release trailer on YouTube) that they will soon be bringing Snow White to home video. How soon, you might ask? Well, it depends on which version of the film you want. The digital version will go on sale on May 13, 2025 via digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. If you want the 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions, then you’ll have to wait for June 24, 2025.
Physical Specials
The 4K UHD version of Snow White will also come in a SteelBook casing for all those collectors out there. Featuring exclusive artwork and packaging to boot. However, all physical versions will come with “hours of exclusive bonus content featuring bloopers, deleted scenes, featurettes, and a full-length sing-along”, so you won’t be missing anything substantial if you opt out of the SteelBook.
There will also be a special DVD-only version of Snow White that includes the live-action film as well as the 1937 animated original. The digital version and the physical versions will be available on the same dates as the other home video releases.
