Warfare stars Kit Connor and Will Poulter are teaming up again for a new horror movie called Rapture.
Described as “atmospheric and terrifying”, the movie is set in 1348 Medieval England as a monastery faces a moral dilemma amid the threat of zombies beyond its walls.
Rapture is the directorial debut of playwright Jordan Tannahill, and is also set to star Élite‘s Manu Ríos.
The film focuses on the remote monastery Lansley Abbey in Yorkshire, which is home to 10 monks “bound by a life of strict routine and devotion”.
However, the arrival of a messenger disrupts their fragile peace, as he brings “haunting news” from the world outside and starts to show worrying symptoms of a mysterious illness.

“A virulent plague is spreading through the land: marked initially by a hemorrhagic fever, it turns its victims into ‘revenants’ – restless, undead beings,” the synopsis adds.
“As the contagion closes in, Lansley Abbey becomes a battleground: desperate outsiders beg for refuge while the infected threaten to overrun its walls.”
The monks begin to be “torn apart by a moral rift” – namely between “those who believe they must care for the sick and those who want to protect the centuries of knowledge safe-guarded by the monastery”.
“As death is fully unleashed, so too is the brothers’ capacity for extraordinary acts of altruism and ruthless betrayal, forcing them to confront the ultimate question: what does it mean to be human?”

Rapture will begin filming in Hungary later this year, and will be launching sales at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Connor and Poulter recently starred together in Warfare, which Digital Spy described as “the most intense 90-minute cinematic experience of the year”.
Rapture is yet to confirm a release date. Warfare is out in cinemas now.
