Pluto TV comes in with a hefty total of 27 films this month. On the list are classic films of the 70s and 90s, as well as six films from the Hellraiser series, five movies from The Prophecy franchise, and films from auteur filmmakers James Mangold, Frank Darabont, and Robert Zemeckis.
Tubi has some real treats with Zach Cregger’s shocking horror hit Barbarian, Coralie Fargeat’s first feature film, the bloody Revenge, and Bryan Bertino’s most overlooked film, The Monster. But Tubi is opening the coffin on a collection of vampire films that span decades of horror from cult classics to modern queer vamp tales. Dead Bodies: The return of a vengeful ex-girlfriend sets in motion a series of gruesome events for a hapless Irish bachelor in director Robert Quinn’s grim black comedy.
Don’t Look Now: Director Nicolas Roeg’s classically beautiful and deadly tale of a married couple grieving the recent death of their young daughter is in Venice when they encounter two elderly sisters, one of whom is psychic and brings a warning from beyond.
The Faculty: When Casey Connor, Herrington High School’s newspaper photographer, witnesses the murder of a nurse and sees her alive again, he decides to investigate the bizarre happenings in this Robert Rodriguez-directed, Kevin Williamson-written horror comedy.
The Gift (2000): With an all-star cast, Sam Raimi directs this supernatural scary movie about a clairvoyant, Annabelle Wilson, a woman in a small town, who tries to find Jessica King, a young socialite who has mysteriously disappeared. While the search continues, she starts to suspect the townspeople.
Hammer of the Gods: A young man transforms into a brutal warrior as he travels the unforgiving landscape in search of his long-lost brother, Hakan the Ferocious, whose people are relying on him to restore order to their kingdom.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters: Brother/sister duo Hansel and Gretel are professional witch-hunters who help innocent villagers. One day, they stumble upon a case that could hold the key to their past in this horror romp from German director Tommy Wirkola.
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth: Directed by Anthony Hickox, and starring Terry Farrell and Doug Bradley, an investigative reporter must send the newly unbound Pinhead and his legions back to Hell.
Hellraiser: Bloodline: Pinhead goes into space in the fourth film in the franchise. In the 22nd century, a scientist attempts to right the wrong his ancestor created: the puzzle box that opens the gates of Hell and unleashes Pinhead and his Cenobite legions.
Hellraiser: Deader: The seventh film in the series, with Kari Wuhrer, Doug Bradley, and Paul Reis. A journalist uncovers an underground group that can bring back the dead and slowly becomes drawn into their world.
Hellraiser: Hellseeker: The return of star Ashley Lawrence comes in the franchise’s sixth film. After a car crash, a shady stockbroker suffers from amnesia. This leaves him in a hazy limbo of sex and murder. But, as in a predestined journey, he takes the bait and follows the marked-out clues all the way to Pinhead.
Hellraiser: Hellworld: Gamers playing a MMORPG based on the “Hellraiser” films find their lives endangered after being invited to a rave, the host of which intends to show them the truth behind the Cenobite mythos.
Hellraiser: Inferno: Genre stalwart Scott Derrickson directed the franchise’s fifth entry. In it, a shady police detective becomes embroiled in a strange world of murder, sadism, and madness after being assigned a murder investigation against a madman known only as “The Engineer”.
Identity (2003): James Mangold directed this tale of ten strangers, stranded at a desolate Nevada motel during a nasty rainstorm, who become acquainted with each other when they realize that they’re being killed off one by one.
Knock Knock: Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo, and Ana de Armas star in the remake of the 70s scary movie, Death Game, directed by Eli Roth. A devoted husband and father helps two stranded young women who knock on his door, but his kind gesture turns into a dangerous seduction and a deadly game of cat and mouse.
Knowing: Nicolas Cage and Rose Byrne star in this apocalyptic film directed by Alex Proyas. M.I.T. professor John Koestler links a mysterious list of numbers from a time capsule to past and future disasters and sets out to prevent the ultimate catastrophe.
The Mist: After a massive thunderstorm, an eerie, unwavering fog descends upon a Maine community. Locals seek refuge in a grocery store from the monstrous creatures now roaming the countryside, killing everyone they encounter. Directed by Frank Darabont and starring some future stars of The Walking Dead, this film is infamous for its ending that managed to surprise the author of the novella it was based on, Stephen King.
The Prophecy (1995): At the scene of a bizarre murder, L.A. homicide detective Thomas Dagget discovers a lethal heavenly prophecy now being fulfilled on earth. In his fight to stop the forces of evil, he finds an unlikely ally in an elementary school teacher.
Prophecy II: When the powers of good and evil again descend to Earth in a battle over mankind, the only hope for survival is the unborn child of an innocent woman. With the help of a mysterious stranger, she races to protect her child and save mankind.
