Free PS5 dating game with zombies has an easy platinum trophy to earn – TrueTrophies

There’s an easy platinum circulating on the PS Store at the moment, and the best thing about it is that it’s completely free to grab. Date Z Welcome to Massville High is a free PS5 game that sees you facing off against the undead while also trying to find a romance along the way.

Date Z Welcome to Massville High is a free PS5 game on the PS Store

Date Z Welcome to Massville High is a visual novel that will occasionally ask you to make choices that will alter the story and who you spend time with. There’s zombie, carnage, and four different ladies to get to know. The entire game is beautifully presented in a comic book style that really helps pull everything together.
Now, there is a lot of DLC for this game that you can purchase. However, none of it is needed to earn the game’s platinum trophy ‘Love in the Time of an Outbreak.’ If you find yourself invested in the game’s story, you will need to fork out the cash for all the different DLC on offer to see it through to its conclusion. You’ll also be able to gain access to a fifth woman to romance.

So, as long as you don’t mind not having the trophy list at 100% completion, you don’t have to spend a dime on it. The free version of the game was released on April 18, 2025, and its platinum sits with an overall completion rate of 18.80% on PSN, proving that it’s not only simple, but pretty darn quick as well.

Looking around online, the non-free version of this game, simply called Date Z, is a lot more annoying to platinum. You have a lot more content to rummage through in order to actually earn that game’s platinum. It also looks like you only have access to one of the ladies to romance, with the rest being locked behind paid DLC, but each DLC does include trophies. However, we recommend sticking with the free version overall.

While I do love a good visual novel and I’m a sucker when it comes to zombies, the game’s strange structure doesn’t interest me at all. While an easy platinum is always welcome, the fact that the completion rate of the game would be skewed without purchasing DLC annoys me greatly. So, I think I’ll just give the entire thing a pass for now.

What do you guys make of this new free PS5 game? Will you be adding it to the collection? Does it look like something that could join our best free PS5 games list? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
