Will’s Top Movie Of The Week: Until Dawn

Will’s Top Movie Of The Week: Until Dawn

Who’s ready for a good scare?

Until Dawn

Some will be happy, and some will be mad.

Until Dawn is a new horror film releasing this week in movie theaters nationwide.

It has received much criticism in the past few months.

Why?

The movie shares the same name as the video game Until Dawn.

The video game came out several years ago with massive success.

The horror video game’s setting is a remote mountain lodge where every decision you make has repercussions for the characters that will either help or hurt them.

The movie’s setting is a building where the characters are being hunted by various things every night, and the only way to break the curse is to survive Until Dawn.

The movie has some horror studs behind it.

David F. Sandberg(Shazam, Lights Out) directed the movie, and Gary Dauberman wrote the screenplay. Dauberman wrote The Nun, Annabelle, and both It films.

Should you see Until Dawn?

Here are our thoughts.

Until Dawn Review

If you love horror, you will enjoy it.

The movie is about a group of friends looking for one of their sisters who disappeared a year ago. They find out her last whereabouts, and things go downhill fast.

The movie felt like a love letter to many horror films, but had fantastic jump scares and practical effects.

You feel the drain these characters go through every time they die and try to survive the next night.

Some of the characters’ decisions will frustrate you, and the story might seem jumbled, but it was a solid horror movie.

Those who love the original video game Until Dawn will be happy if you pay attention.

The movie has several nods to the game, not including Peter Stormare’s Dr. Hill.

We can understand why fans wanted a recreation of the game.

This movie feels like the Until Dawn video game because you learn from every death and try to correct it.

Was it the best horror movie?

No, but it was still solid and a good time.
