“It was bad, Mama. They laughed at me.”
Summer H. Howell (Hunter Hunter) is in negotiations to play the title role in Carrie, the streamer’s upcoming supernatural horror drama series from horror master Mike Flanagan based on Stephen King’s novel, according to a report on Deadline.
The series is described as “A reimagining of the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White, who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father’s sudden death, Carrie finds herself contending with the challenges of attending high school, a bullying scandal and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.”
At just 20 years of age Howell already has an impressive horror resume. She has appeared in Curse of Chucky, Cult of Chucky Wolf Hunter, The Midnight Man, and Channel Zero.
Mike Flanagan is set to write and direct the series. He will also be an executive producer along with Trevor Macy.
Filming is expected to begin in May in Vancouver. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for more on Carrie.
