Jodie Comer films harrowing scenes in Northumberland for 28 Years Later as ‘zombies’ spotted – Chronicle Live

Actress Jodie Comer has been snapped on set in Northumberland for filming on Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later

Jodie Comer has been spotted filming some rather harrowing looking scenes in Northumberland, as production continues on new Danny Boyle film 28 Years Later.

After it was announced earlier this year that a new sequel to zombie smash 28 Days Later had been given the green light, Oscar winner Danny descended on Rothbury with his team, to scope the area out, just as Killing Eve and Doctor Foster actress Jodie was first linked with a role in his new movie.

Residents in the town then received letters through their door, informing them that production would indeed by taking place on their home turf and, after a day of getting things ready and equipment loaded in, cameras started to roll in Rothbury last week. Sheep became the star of the show as crew took over the Jubilee Crescent housing estate, with a number of different houses in the street used for filming; while Jodie headed to a slightly windy Blaeberry Hill to do her scenes.

After the arrival of Hollywood to Rothbury caused substantial excitement last week, new photos of Jodie during filming have emerged and they see her, as yet unnamed character, looking in all kinds of distress, as she shares the spotlight with a young co-star. Supporting actors were also pictured running through grass, looking very much like zombies, with Jodie then having a lighter moment with a member of the 28 Years Later crew as she watched herself back on the monitor.

Jodie admitted in a recent interview that she had been studying Cheryl’s accent for research, as she tried to get to grips with a Geordie accent for the film.
