8 Players, Thousands of Zombies, and a No More Room in Hell 2 Deep Dive – GameSpace.com

Check out the No More Room in Hell 2 developer livestream that just dropped tons of details on the upcoming zombie shooter.

Chivalry 2 developer Torn Banner Studios is taking something of a sidestep from the sword and board with No More Room in Hell 2. Now, we have a good long look at what’s coming in the imminent zombie apocalypse thanks to a developer livestream from the team. Taking to the internet airwaves, Torn Banner delves into the art of this upcoming horror co-op, a look at the store, and the state of the game right now.

The State of Things to Come

While many big-budget follow-ups might retell the tale, the team delved into the narrative outcome of the first shootout and how this sequel centers on the way the world is unfolding. After surviving a zombie outbreak, it’s up to players to do more than just get out alive. This provides plenty of opportunity for rich narrative choices among the bloodletting that will inevitably take place. Game Director Leif Walter delves into this more, explaining how players “have made it out, and you are going back in as a first responder.” This puts the entire story right in the midst of the outbreak but also gives players something to fight for rather than just racing in for a can of beans after the apocalypse has happened.

Alongside a look at the narrative, there’s a glimpse at the artwork later in the stream, alongside the maps that this influences. Take a look at the incredibly creepy highways and the resulting carnage that litters the gas station during this stream.

You’ll notice that No More Room in Hell 2 takes a definitive stance on telling a story that’s unfolding in the present. It doesn’t seem to look back from the end of the world or scrape by in a deserted land. There is always something to move forward for. That has us intrigued.

No More Room in Hell 2 is the follow up to 2011 award-winning Source mod, this multi-player shoot to survive adventure is a bloody good looking step up from the first. Players start isolated in the dark, find their friends, and survive – in a dynamic, endlessly replayable zombie apocalypse. Powered by Unreal 5 and a gorgeous splatterfest that comes clearly inspired by the likes of Left 4 Dead, expect plenty of genre staples and fast-paced combat. All of this and everything that the team looked at will come to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store this Halloween. Check out more on the official website.
