Sony Pictures has set the 28 Years Later release date for the upcoming zombie movie, which is the sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later.
When is the 28 Years Later release date?
The 28 Years Later release date is set for June 20, 2025. It is the first film of a new trilogy and will be directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. The second film in the trilogy is said to be directed by The Marvels’ Nia DaCosta. No word yet on who will oversee the final movie in the 28 Years Later trilogy.
Boyle, who directed 28 Days Later, and Garland, who recently directed 2024’s Civil War for A24, are both producing 28 Years Later alongside Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, and Bernie Bellew.
Cillian Murphy, who played a bicycle courier named Jim in 28 Days Later, serves as an executive producer. It’s unclear at this time whether or not Murphy will also reprise his role in 28 Years Later.
Confirmed for the 28 Years Later cast are Jodie Comer (Free Guy, The Last Duel), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (The Fall Guy, Kraven the Hunter), Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter, The Grand Budapest Hotel), and Jack O’Connell.
