The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs is Spider-Man in a fan film’s first trailer.
Widely recognised for portraying Carl Grimes in the zombie apocalypse drama, the actor leads The Spider, a horror twist on Peter Parker’s superhero arc which is a non-profit fan film and unaffiliated and not endorsed by Marvel, Sony, or Disney.
In the footage (which you can watch above), we see an agonised Peter walking the darkened streets, fresh from his radioactive spider bite. But soon enough his newfound powers are making terrible things happen, as flashes of violence and bloodied faces tease.

Interestingly, Riggs auditioned to play the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man back when the MCU was readying the character’s big entrance.
Tom Holland ultimately got the role, with Riggs telling ComicBook in 2018: “I didn’t even get a call back. I just auditioned for it, and it’s fine.”
He continued: “I auditioned for Spider-Man, I auditioned for [Solo: A Star Wars Story], all those big movies. I would love to do something like that. It would be awesome, especially now that I have a lot more free time, it would be really, really cool.”

Meanwhile, the actor signed up for another horror project titled Hacked last October.
“Hacked follows the story of a family who loses everything to a prolific and elusive hacker, aptly named ‘The Chameleon’,” the synopsis reads. “Parents Amy and Mark have $20,000 stolen, and their kids Ralph and Freddy get their entire digital lives hacked — social media, video game items, even their pointless online homework!
“When the bank, social media platforms, and law enforcement aren’t able to help, the family takes matters into their own hands.”
The Spider currently has no release date. The Walking Dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
