The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live co-creators Danai Gurira and Scott M. Gimple discuss Michonne‘s return in the series’ second episode.
The episode, titled “Gone,” showcased the events Michonne went through following the character’s exit in The Walking Dead Season 10 in 2020. Michonne’s final appearance in Season 10 involved the character helping a couple who had been left behind due to an injury. The couple, played by Andrew Bachelor and Breeda Wool, returned alongside Michonne in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Scott M. Gimple revealed that the decision to revisit the characters had been planned back in 2020.
