There’s a good reason the original season of The Walking Dead ran for so long and led to so many spin-offs – it just can’t be beaten.

Initially starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, the series became renowned worldwide for its grotesque depiction of ‘walkers’ and its array of complex characters. A quick fan favourite was Norman Reedus’s Daryl Dixon, who got his own spin-off in 2023.

The Walking Dead became AMC’s flagship show and ran for 12 years, finally ending in 2022.
