Suits spin-off casts The Walking Dead star – Digital Spy

The Walking Dead favourite Josh McDermitt has joined the cast of Suits: LA.

McDermitt (who played Eugene Porter in the beloved zombie show) will play Stuart Lane, an old friend of Stephen Amell’s main character Ted Black, according to Deadline.

The publication described Stuart as “energetic, powerful, focused and self-absorbed”.

Announced last autumn, this Suits spin-off tracks former federal prosecutor Ted from New York, who “reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles”.

However, his firm is at a “crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career” teased the synopsis.

“Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other, while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

It would seem that some 15 years ago, Stuart helped Ted to establish his LA company specialising in criminal and entertainment law.

It was confirmed earlier this month that Suits creator Aaron Korsh would be returning to write the pilot for Suits: LA alongside producers Doug Liman, Dave Bartis, Gene Klein, and Victoria Mahoney.

Production is currently scheduled to take place in Vancouver throughout March. It’s uncertain whether any of the original Suits cast members will be appearing, although Harvey Specter actor Gabriel Macht hasn’t ruled out the possibility.

Suits is available to stream on Netflix, while The Walking Dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
