Rick Grimes has been on the move these last few years. Way back in 2021, the erstwhile sheriff of The Walking Dead popped up in the least likely location: Fortnite. He and Michonne and some of the other Walking Dead survivors found themselves on the colorful Battle Royale island in a crossover between AMC’s zombie show and Epic Games’ hit video game.
Now, Rick Grimes has popped up in yet another unlikely locale: Urzikstan, the new map in Call Of Duty: Warzone. Grimes, along with his long-lost lover, Michonne, will both be new Operators in the upcoming season of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone, which teased the collaboration in two new trailers.
This first one is just The Walking Dead’s instantly recognizable theme song playing over a Warzone-themed version of the opening credits:
The second shows off a bunch of the new stuff coming to Call Of Duty next week, including a new zombies mode to go along with the Rick and Michonne show The Ones Who Live, which comes out later this month. You can get an actual glimpse of what Rick and Michonne will look like in-game in this next one:
Of course, this is only a temporary layover for Rick and Michonne. They’ll be wherever the CRM is when The Ones Who Live debuts on February 25th on both AMC and streaming on AMC+.
This is one of those perfect marriages of things I cover all the time. The only thing I can think of more fitting than a TWD / CoD crossover would be if Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin and FromSoftware, the creators of Dark Souls, worked on a video game together.
